Out with the old and in with the new. That’s exactly what the Memphis Grizzlies are implementing in more ways than one. The Grizzlies started the process with not bringing back fan favorites Zach Randolph and Vince Carter, which were the start of the many changes to take place in the Grind City. Many of these were related to the Memphis Grizzlies arena, FedEx Forum, which will undergo some major renovations.

Since the Grizzlies off-season transaction period essentially ended in June, it’s been hard hats and hammers away. The Grizzlies locker room was the number one priority, totally erasing all signs of a compact, cozy resthaven.

Grizzlies President of Business Operations Jason Wexler has been busy getting things ready for the season with less 60 days left until opening night. Another perk in progress is Memphis’ brand new state of the art dry sauna, a much-needed amenity that’s just about finished and ready to be enjoyed by the players and staff.

Last but certainly not least, an upgrade that all the fans had been waiting on for some time now is an up-to-date high tech scoreboard. Since the FedEx Forum opened in Memphis, the round digital board has hung there. It’s the last of its kind in the NBA. The new scoreboard is sure to get a lot of attention with beautiful graphics. Fans certainly can’t wait to see all the things this baby can do!

As you can see, the Grizzlies organization is rolling out the red carpet for its players and fans. If there was a grade to give this franchise on reinventing, it would definitely be an A+. Change can sometimes be difficult, but in this case, it’s much appreciated and refreshing!
