This past summer was nothing but good fortunes for the Los Angeles Clippers. It doesn’t look like the LA’s team momentum is slowing down anytime soon. According to Mark Stein, Tyronn Lue is on the move.

The potential hire of the 2016 NBA champion, Tyronn Lue, is a reunion for head coach Doc Rivers and also the Clippers franchise. Lue was on Rivers’ bench during the 2013-2014 Clippers season and the years of 2011-2013 as both men were employees of the Boston Celtics.
The Cleveland Cavaliers abruptly fired Lue six games into last season. Lue’s name would soon hit the national headlines. The 2016 champion was a strong candidate for the Los Angles Lakers head coaching position. However, the Lakers ultimately went with former Indiana Pacers coach, Frank Vogel.
Last season, Doc Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers entrusted Lue with an “informal role”; essentially, it was a consulting position. Last year’s position for Lue makes this signing a smooth transition. Lue isn’t a stranger to championship expectations, which makes this an ideal pairing.
The Clippers have another championship personality with Lue back on the bench. Lue, especially with his past health concerns, doesn’t need to worry about the stress of a head coach. Considering Leonard isn’t on a long-term deal, it’s imperative the Clippers spread its hands to obtain any source of championship material.
Unlike its Staples Center neighbor, the Clippers organization is steering in the right direction from top to bottom. Los Angeles has equipped itself with champion-level players as well as coaches. Steve Ballmer’s cartoonish enthusiasm in addition to the knack for hiring the right people is another key to the Clippers’ success.
Tyronn Lue will fit right in with the Clippers.
